I might be out there as well. A wing wave and a 500ft pass down 34L would be appreciated if you can organise it! :D

I was driving under the runway just when you lifted off. I believe you lifted off around about runway intersection?

This isn't really 1500 but at 1750, i noticed on webtrak UAE419 do a missed approach did anyone get any photos of that?
Looks like it was either too high as it came in quite tight and only made it to 320m before climbing again or Our Airline was still on the runway (clearly only two of many possibilities).

Any info or photos would be good!

Cheers
Gerard

Slightly further off topic, i saw a Qantas 734 do a missed approach yesterday at about 1345. It was interesting that it started climbing out of the approach around Kurnell so at about 1200ft and 5miles. Anyone know the reason?

Hi Todd,

I was at the beach carpark and managed to get these shots - you were indeed very high, must be fun flying the repositional flights!! Click on the pics to download the 1600px image.

Theres a problem with the link to the larger version Chris, but looking at the smaller one, it still looks a nice shot.

I've only been to the Observation Deck once, and I can see how the other Planes in front with APU's running would cause some haze problems.

Thanks everyone for the pictures.

Some info for you guys.

Our take off weight was approx 210000kgs. Which is about 200000kgs less than max take off weight.

We used minimum thrust.

The acceleration was odd considering we very rarely fly the 747 at these weights.

We went straight to FL400, flew overhead Melbourne VOR at 10000 feet then flew the ILS on to runway 18 in Avalon.

One of our 737-800s was doing circuits at the time at Avalon. Was good to watch.

Then we did the opposite trip with VH-OEH as the QF6196.

If any of you have any questions feel free to PM me or post it.

Once again everyone thanks.
