Jetstar from HNL - cancellation and delayed pax

I have a friend who is currently stranded at HNL airport with their Jetstar return flight to Sydney cancelled. No-one knows why, nor when they will be getting home (some people are saying might be a couple of days). Anyone know the story? u/s aircraft?
