Clinton will arrive on January 17 in Canberra where she and Gates will hold the 25th Australia-United States Ministerial Consultations with their counterparts Foreign Minister Stephen Smith and Defense Minister John Faulkner.

They will "discuss key global and regional security challenges," the State Department said.

She will also stop in Melbourne, it said.

Probably visiting Melbourne for the Australian Open tennis?
Doubt it would be for 'business'; I'm sure a politician would not pass up an offer of free tickets.;)

Does anybody know what date she will fly from CBR to MEL? Or is she visiting MEL first?

Prince William will arrive in SYD on JAN19 then onto MEL for a short stop after visiting Wellington.

As of Mrs Clinton, shes coming along with Robert Gates which could bring the 747-200(E4) which there are 2 currently parked at HNL, and possibly a 757. They are going to AKL from POM, Papua New Guinea then into CBR on JAN17 then a short stop to MEL(possibly a day).

Note I have used the words "could" and "possibly" because this is just a rough guide of the movements to help you out if you might want to grab a photo. This info is just from news websites.

Hope this helps you out!

I understand there could be up to 4 or 5 aircraft involved in the visit.

free loading Royals need 4 or 5 planes

why cant William just use AirAsia X, as the Aussie taxpayer is picking up the bill

^ I think the 4 or 5 refers to the Seppos.

As for Willy and co... not bitter are we?

Hey guys,
I'm hoping to see either Clinton or William's a/c here in AKL. I'm keeping an ear out for arrival details. Does anyone know anything about their flight times on this side of the ditch?

WHEN Prince William visits Sydney next week he'll be the guest of honour at a barbecue for young people.

But first he'll have a formal lunch with Governor-General Quentin Bryce and an informal meeting with NSW Governor Marie Bashir.

The prince arrives next Tuesday, January 19, for a two-day visit and will be met at Sydney Airport by Ms Bashir and NSW Premier Kristina Keneally.

Arrival info I have is around lunch time Tues 19th Jan 2010 ???

Cheers Lloyd, do you know if its the entire AUSMIN conference including Gates et al being canceled or just the Clinton part?

Gareth Forwood
14th January 2010, 12:11 PM
It looks like the whole thing is off - Nine News just reported that Clinton has cancelled her trip, and Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/01/13/AR2010011304259.html) has confirmed that both Clinton and Robert Gates (US Sec Def) have cancelled/postponed their meetings here.

Steve Jones

I can confirm that the whole visit has been cancelled.

Prince Will is still coming though. Heard on Sky News that he's arriving first class on QF but not sure if that's a reporter's quip or fact. Same reporter claims that Elizabeth Windsor is footing the bill rather than the Aussie taxpayer as it's not an official royal tour - it's simply William on a frolic of his own following his Dad's footsteps of all those years ago. I don't think he's planning on a year in Geelong though! TIME reported in US$ in those days, so that was about A$380 since the A$ was worth US$1.10 :)

Might be related to a 'USAF' visit, GLF4 91-0108 at FL430 on mode-s as Racer1. So maybe even if the big guns don't make it there may still be some

According to TVNZ's website, the Prince rocked in on a regular Air New Zealand flight

He came to New Zealand on NZ38 From LHR via Hong Kong in business class.
He flys to Sydney tomorrow (late morning) on either a scheduled Air New Zealand flight or the NZAF Boeing 757, haven't found that bit out yet. I'm thinking the 757 option since the only flight out of Wellington to Sydney is at 6.40AM and he is visiting a children's hospital before he leaves.

18th January 2010, 07:47 PM
Well, one of the reports also said that he was arriving into SYD on QF J Class (and then there was a comment about not flying first class ). I don't think they are that keen to publicise the details for obvious reasons.

All the media report he is arriving at 11am - there is an Air New Zealand flight from AKL arriving 10:30am, with the QF142 from AKL at 10:45pm. So either he is on one of those flights, or he is indeed on the NZ 757.

DanielG

On which flight did he leave on today/tonight?

Sarah C
21st January 2010, 08:17 PM
Well they showed him courtside at the Federer match about 20 minutes ago. There was also a suggestion he would extend his stay and depart tomorrow. If he is leaving tonight, expect him on the QF29 departing at 11:55pm.

Ryan N
22nd January 2010, 07:46 AM
On one of the news items on prince William this morning, it showed a Qantas plane leaving the gate, so it could well be QF29.
