Noticed earlier that ACA33 for yesterday was canceled. Was just looking on flightaware and noticed that there is todays on its way down now as well as ACA2033. Its departing from HNL now on its ways down to Sydney. Does anyone know the reason for the diversion of yesterdays a/c as it past HNL then backtracked back after a while?

AC34 will be departing at 1215 whilst AC2036 will be departing at 2049.

Interesting, but starting to seem a bit routine for AC. If I could hazard a complete wild guess as to what caused it- I'd imagine unruly passenger. Turbulence related injuries would've made the news and mechanical cancellation usually happens before they leave YVR.

I'd imagine in these current times (particularly in North America) that an 'unruly passenger' would also make the news, and depending on whether or not this flight was passing through Oregon ("http://www.cnn.com/2010/TRAVEL/01/06/oregon.unruly.passenger/index.html) airspace the aircraft could have expected to receive a 'courtesy' escort from some National Guard F-15's.

True, true- far be it from me to question the wisdom of Air Canada. Matt L just told me it was parked over near the old DJ terminal- starting to think the delay is mechanical in nature. I'll see if anyone I can ask is at home and hopefully get an answer for you all.

It has been sitting over near the DHL building all day.
