I noticed today (Mon) that QF525 had not one but two aborted landing attempts. From Webtrack it would seem that Control may have had trouble coordinating take-off and landings. The first was aborted at about 900m while the second was abandoned at only 87m. New controllers on duty?

At first glance, aborting at 900m (I assume that is altitude), would not have anything to do with coordinating departures. The 87m one might have though ;)

What was the weather conditions at the time these happened? Hard to see them going around due to wind gusts at 900m.

Looks like 25 is in use; wind at 4pm was 250 18kts gusting to 30kts.

Today I seen a Qantas 737 go around because the ATC told SIA 222 A380 to line up on 34L, right it front of the landing 737. As soon as it taxied on, the controller said this is not going to work and intructed the 737 to go around.

Gents

I too was at the Mound today and witnessed this happening. Got some vague shots of the 737 doing the go-around, followed by the SQ380 taking off (And the sight of that continues to fascinate me! :) )

Went through today's takings and found the shot, pardon the colour imbalance and the vague nature of the shot. I saw the jet and thought "Hmmm... that's a little out of place" and snapped the shot

And the other jet mentioned in my previous post
