Does anyone know what the A318 is that is currently on finals for 07 at Sydney. It has a blue underside, a yellow cheat line the length of the plane and a blue swish on the tail.

Plane plotter has it as callsign MLM031

Worth going out for I think!

Actually, just looked at the very heat hazy distant photo of it on approach about 6km away .... there is no blue underside, it's just shadow, so this is definately it!

My best guess is that it might be te AF435 flight that is discussed in another thread. The arrival time matches that showing on the Sydney Airport website arrivals page. There is an AF100 heading out to Wellington tomorrow morning listed. Not Air France colours I know - perhaps a leased aircraft?......oops, just saw thread on corporate movements. So is MLM031 and AF435 one and the same???? I'm confused (easily done)!

This aircraft has brought in the band AC/DC. They are due to play in New Zealand from tommorrow so i take it that would be your answer.

Sort of off topic but still quite relevant, but it's strange that they have use of Rwy 07 today...the RESA bulletin was "green" for today, which means the runway shouldn't be available until 1900 tonight and the temporary 07 threshold crossing roadway should be open from 0700-1900. I note the relevant notam for this arrangement has been cancelled too.

The wind isn't excessive either...it's only blowing 12 knots. I can only assume a pavement failure (maybe even a tyre blow-out?) on 16R/34L may have 'forced' the use of 07 while a repair or clean-up was carried out.

I believe the stars aligned and we were able to use it to allow the harbour area to be clear for all the flypast/parachuting activity that was being conducted for australia day. 07 arrivals, 16 parallel departures worked quite well for that purpose.
