Does anyone have info on this exclusive lounge or any photos of it perhaps? Not much is mentioned in the various websites on the club's features, etc.

The reason it is isn't publicised anywhere is that it is an invite only membership. If they made information about it public, everyone would want to join.
If you know a member, you might get some more information.

Basically no chance you will get any photo's of a CL without actually being a member.

They are an upmarket Qantas Club with personalised service.
There is not even any signs in the terminals. If you see a frosted glass door with 'private' on it, you have found it. They tend to be tucked away though. Happy hunting! :)

Gareth - interesting. I will have to look out next time I'm around the airport to see if I can find it!
Basically to be a CL member you either have to be a member of parliament or CEO/CFO of a company with >750,000-1,000,000 annual spend with QF. Even then you have to be recommended by your QF accounts manager and then its filtered through a panel to assess eligibility.

Now that's what I call exclusive!

Individuals get membersip to CL aswell
3AW presenter Neil Mitchell coverts his CL membership, and the access to pollies etc, which is why he has nothing bad to say about Qantas on his programme, even when there is something bad to say.
(Which isn't really very often in the scheme of things)

Rhys's criteria is on track, but there is more to it. A lot of people think you can "apply" for it but it doesn't work that way. The criteria changes regularly because they limit the numbers.
Basically only a couple of thousand people have it. It isn't the access to the lounge, or the FF benefits, it is more the fact you can say you are a member and the chance to mingle with other people. There are plenty of thse "clubs" in the business world.

one of our frequent customers is a well known politician, pretty much all of them who are ministers or the like have it.

At SYD T3, the entrance to the CL is on your right, opposite the entrance to the Qantas Club at the top of the escalators.
At MEL, the entrance to the CL is at the wall facing you, towards the right hand side at the top of the escalators to the Qantas Club.
IIRC, at BNE, the entrance to the CL is somewhere between gate 22 and 23 (in between a toilet and a shop )

I went into the Syd CL with my then boss about 7 years ago.
It is like a very upmarket QC, much quieter and you serve yourself top shelf spirits from the bar
what was cool is that they took our Y class boarding passes and came over when boarding commenced and gave my boss an upgrade to J. They were very apologetic that J was now full and I had to stay down the back

Marty - employees on duty travel are not permitted into any lounges regardless of class flown.
That is not true. Tech crew are allowed. As are many of the management team - who are also QC members as part of their conditions of employment.

...general access by employees on DT across the boad is not permitted.
If only! :)

Hello all,
I am collecting new Q bag tag frequent flyer kits (managed to get two of all frequent flyer tiers). I notice that there is a Chairman's Lounge kit and would so love to get one of those. My question is if many of these are issued and are they any different to the silver, gold or platinum kits?

Only difference I have seen is in the colour of the tags. The ones I have personally seen are Silver, Gold, Grey, Black and Maroon.

The boss is a chairmans club member, we put through $20 million plus expenditure through QF every year, I travel with him twice a year and get to use the Chairmans Club as well. It is so quite and peaceful you could often hear a pin drip at times, even though there may be a few people in there. Although last visit has been a while - Sydney early last year.

Thank you Todd and Graham and must say envious of Malcolm. I got another silver and platinum kit today. I will just have to keep searching for that elusive Chairman's Lounge kit - mind you, I will never be issued with one of these myself. Thanks for the picture too Graham, just like the one's I have.
