Emirates will be the first carrier to deploy the A380 to China. The A380 will replace the existing 77W on EK306 from DXB to PEK.

According to President Tim Clark, the additional capacity to China will still "not be sufficient" and that strong economic progress in China "justifies a further expansion in aviation links in the near future".

I thought SQ was the first to deploy the A380 to China. It flew to Hong Kong, which technically is part of China. EK is the first to mainland China.

We flew on the first Beijing to Singapore flight the week before the Olympics.

SQ deployed the A380 to China during the Olympics.

I suspect the qualification EK is making is that this is the first regularly scheduled service.
