Unless someone is looking to move from the same position interstate, what chance is there of a prospective applicant having worked in the field before as they are requesting?

It's a good question, and one that I can't answer.
However, one would hope they'd look not only at current qualifications and experience, but also look at future potential. The number and quality of 'suitable' candidates might be relatively small otherwise...

But, as they say, you've got to be in it to win it. The worst they can say is 'no'.

Not sure Lee. I can't say I've actually discussed pay rates with anyone in the section...I'm only really worried about how much I'm getting each fortnight!;)
