Greetings all,
There was a C-17 at Tamworth today, apparently doing touch and gos. To say it was impressive is an understatement. Wondering if anyone knows or heard which aircraft it was.

So there is a little bit of action there apart from country music?:)

Yes there is! Hornets and Hawks are regular visitors. We used to get F-111s a bit too, so hopefully Super Hornets will come down too. C-17s are much rarer, hence the interest.

There where two around on Monday and at least one on Tuesday, the morning flight on Monday used the call sign Stallion 9 but did not hear anything of the others. They only do overshoots off the instrument approaches,no touch and goes but as you say still very impressive , nothing like a 17 going ballistic, some of the climb outs are breath taking ,depending on usage else where we seem to average at least one visit a week, have been a bit quite lately , busy O.S I suppose.
