VH-OJS Socceroos

Hi all!

I'll be in Sydney this Thursday-Friday, and I am wondering whether this 744-4 is likely to be around "the big smoke".
Does this aircraft regularly visit Sydney? Reason I ask, is that I am a little surprised there seems to be no mention of OJS sightings at YSSY on this board.
P.S. VH-OEB would be of interest also on the above days.

Both aircraft departed today, OJS to London and OEB to LAX. OEB will be back Thur morning around 8am and then depart I presume to the states again either Thur or Fri. OJS probably won't be back in SYD this week, if at all, there's a possibility it will arrive early Fri morning

One more quick question, if I may.
Given the 0635 arrival time for VH-OJS as QF2, and the lack of light at that hour, is there a particular pattern to which flight this aircraft is likely to depart on later in the day?

Any local knowledge much appreciated.

Firstly, OJS will not be operating the QF2, OJU will be (OJS is QF30 to MEL). At least OJU is in the new livery. Secondly, first light is at 0637, meaning it would be quite dark indeed at 0635, as the sun doesn't come up until 0702. I have no idea about photography, but I would presume it would be too dark for a decent photo?

Also, OEB is set to operate QF107 on Friday around 11am

Hi All!

With this being the most knowledgeable forum I know, I would like to know about planned movements of QF B747-400s VH-OJS (Soccerroos) and VH-OEB (come play).

I am on holidays shortly and would appreciate any info say from June 28 to July 10. Living in the country doesn't afford much opportunity for photos so any help is much appreciated!!

Yes unfortunately VH-OEB will probably be away during that time, but VH-OJS and VH-OEJ as well will most likely be in service. Schedules for these aircraft would probably not be out until a few days before.

OJS was in the washing bay at the QANTAS jet base this afternoon around 3:00 pm. It had just been cleaned and looked very nice and fresh.

Does anyone know what the rego is of the QF 744 has the OneWorld titles on it??? I know OEB previously had them on but she now has the Come Play theme. I was getting into my car at the Domestic Long Term Carpark when i noticed a QF 744 wearing the One World titles pulling into a bay somewhere in front of the Observation Deck. Was too far to take a photo of it.

It's VH-OJU, not too sure when it had the sticker applied. I got a couple of photos but they were too badly heat hazed to bother editing (or keeping for that matter)

Noted that OJS ops QF1 to BKK & LHR today. Also OEB arrived back into Sydney this evening.

Any takers on a heads up about ops for both aircraft after this?

OJS Operating the QF30 LHR-MEL today. Suppose the decals will be removed soon with the exit of Australia from the world cup, anyone know how soon?

I know ojs was in Melbourne yesterday.. Did it leave?? Also did oeb arrive back today from San Francisco??

VH-OJS will depart this evening as QF29 MEL-LHR. Won't be back in SYD until at least Jun30. VH-OEB is definitely still in SYD, most probably departing to JFK or SFO tomorrow

Well, after all the messages to this forum, and the great news about OJS being in Sydney last Wednesday... I came to Sydney for the day - arrived 7.45am, left 1.45pm - AND I DIDN'T SEE IT!!!!!!!

Apparently it was parked deep in the QF Jet Base... so it got towed before I arrived and then after I left... oh well maybe this week!! I'm in Sydney again tomorrow to Wednesday morning.

I know OJS is currently nearing LHR as QF29 dep from MEL last night - assuming it will turn around as either QF2 or QF10??

Any takers?
