slipped through quietly as a tiny grab in the business section of the paper...
Crawford Rix replacing Shelley Roberts as new CEO in Australia.....
Has a very good Cv from what is published and appeared to point BMBaby in the right direction....
perhaps his "budget" background "may" point Tiger in the right direction with the public who does not regard them as a genuine option to the "other" carriers.
perhaps others can confirm??? was he the "other - overseas - highly regarded" applicant for the Virgin top job that Borghetti won?

Don't know about "other - overseas - highly regarded" candidate - at the press conference the impression given was that the only other strong candidate was an internal one. The other name which was thrown around was Andy Harrison who recently stepped down from easyJet, but I don't believe there was anything officially linking an overseas candidate with the CEO's job at the airline.

Slightly off topic, but it looks like Tiger is restarting MEL-DRW from June

Ellis--there was a press conference about this?
Admittedly, this story slipped through the (my) cracks.

Sorry Will - should clarify that I meant the Virgin Blue press conference announcing the appointment of John Borghetti. My previous thread was in response to Harrys comment re Virgin Blue.

Ellis, thanks, you are 100% right, it was the guy from easyjet.....
recalling now BM Baby - they are really struggling in UK - downsizing both fleet and staff so with Davis (Tiger) ex BM Baby, appears he is bringing his mates over....
Shelley Roberts appears to be receiving very minimal covergae with the "move"... single line grab in the press..... did a "good" job
The darwin flights......
the top end is a funny place.......having previoulsy been "dumped" by TT because of seasonal fluctuations, the top end people where again "deserted" by an airline.....
JQ/QF/DJ has stuck with them all be it some of the pricing reflects the closed shop they operate in......
TT in my humble opinion will struggle to gain any sort of real foot hold into Darwin and again will find their number will warrant a pull out......all be it initaila support will be from the backpackers from overseas making their way up there to flood the hospitality market
good luck to Tiger in coming back but the locals where very angry when the knicked off originally......
If you recall, Jetstar "immediately" opened a base there! sure Tiger did it in Adelaide when JQ pulled out, but impact in ADL was minimal to schedules - the TT pull out through the plans of many into disrepair!
