Not long.
Horse transport.
You rang???:D

Stefan, there has been a fair bit mentioned on this in the Noisy Jets thread http://www.yssyforum.net/board/showthread.php?t=5145 . As stated there it's an African International bird which was meant to turn up 2 days ago.

Looks like it flew over Hornsby about 5 minutes ago

Couldn't hear it, but it was blowing a bit of crap from the engines

Gotta miss that :)

Thanks Maikha - yes it was a 16R arrival. It was a nice surprise as we had expected the African International DC8 earlier in the week.

Im just love the second life cargo jets, and Miami is great for old time cargo action, DC-8, DC-10, B-727 etc. I had a great couple of days there a few years back, with clear blue Florida skies. In particularl, I like the look of the LAN 767 and Arrow DC-8.

No so old but still nice to photograph.

Yes Chris it is still here. Both the DC-8 & the A318 are both parked over at the general aviation area. However the A318 is blocking a decent view of the DC-8 as it is parked directly in front of it.

I like to thank Nigel for the additional post and Stefan for the follow up. Was a buzz to see a classic back in Sydney. I still had a smile on my face even when i went shopping with the Mrs, I never smile when I shop with the Mrs:p.

One thing I have to say, it was so quiet. Might be a little louder on take off.

Tony G, you da man! Top work getting shots of the classics in Sydney.

Seems today was a good day for some exotic metal, DC-8, the Classic Jumbo, and an A318 from Cairns. Now I regret not heading out today in lieu of.... housework

Was meant to depart at 0600, but that didn't happen. I think they're waiting for a northerly wind so they can take off on 34L and wake Albanese up.

It'll be going to Perth initially.

Benny Zheng

It's flight number is MAG 213 estimated time of departure to Perth is 1001.

BernieL
4th April 2010, 10:20 AM
What runway is it likely to depart from?

Nigel C
4th April 2010, 10:33 AM
Probably 16R...that's if the crew don't run out of hours in the meantime...

For probably the last DC-8 operation to Sydney, it's certainly making it a comical one to remember.

Planned Sydney-Perth-Mauritius.

Nice shot taking off Chris, considering the down pour. Funny enough the rain stopped soon after it had gone:rolleyes:

Haha. Your not the type of person to joke around around Nigel .
