YPPH Spotting

Hi,
Ive recently made the move from Sydney to Perth and having being spoilt with all the great vantage points around YSSY and diversity of planes I was thinking about making a trip down to YPPH,

Is there any guides or any u-beaut spots that would provide some good spotting, even some times would be a great hand..

Not a lot unfortunately. The grassed area to west of the international terminal is a pretty good area for spotting and photography in the morning. There is also an observation deck at the international terminal. There can be some veiwing opportunities just to the south of the domestic terminals in the hire car carparks as well as the carpark next to the WAC office but access can be a bit tricky at times and the veiw is sometimes obscured by parked aircraft. There is also a small mound at the northern end of the airport just past the regional terminals however a new fence is being erected which will spoil the view.

All is not lost.

I believe that a dedicated spotting/viewing area on the approach to Runway 03 will be constructed somewhere along the new link road between the present Domestic and International terminals later this year and may be open by November.
