VB's first E190 - VHZPA will be doing some test flying over the next few weeks as part of its introduction to service plan.

It will visit:

Sat 22: MKY and CBR

Sun 23: ADL and CBR

Mon 24: CBR and MKY

Tue 25: TSV and MCY

Wed 26: HTI

More to come later.. but SYD will see it on the 28th @ 1000 and MEL on the 31st @ 1125.

Should be in service in early april operating BNE-ADL-BNE-CBR-BNE-MKY-BNE daily..

ZPB is not too far behind. There will be atleast 1 E-Jet delivery every month for the rest of the year!

Radi,

It never eventuated in ADL today. I have now heard that it will be arriving in ADL on the 26th of this month.

This may then affect the other test flights for other destinations.

Cheers

Should be in service in early april operating BNE-ADL-BNE-CBR-BNE-MKY-BNE daily..

Looks like 6th of April is the 1st full day of service:

BNE-ADL 0600-0815
ADL-BNE 0925-1210
BNE-CBR 1240-1425
CBR-BNE 1500-1635
BNE-MKY 1715-1845
MKY-BNE 1915-2035

Although the BNE-CBR-BNE sectors actually start a few days earlier on the 2nd of April. Looks like the first BNE-ADL service is a down-grade [or down-guage if you use the QF terminology!] from a 737 to 1 190?

:)

Yes apologies .. the aircraft was grounded late last week and this affected it’s schedule.

It indeed visited CBR today. Heads to MKY tomorrow. TSV/MCY on Tuesday and ADL for 4 hours on Wednesday. ETA is 0930L at this stage.

Look out in CNS and ROK on Thu.

It will fly to Sydney early Fri and overnight before flying back late Saturday.

Sunday it’s back in CNS. Monday its Melbourne’s turn. Again early flight down and back late on Tuesday.

Into service Wednesday hopefully.

I don't know much about the E-Jets at all, but will crews by certified to fly both the E170 and E190? Are there any considerable differences operations-wise with the E190 as compared to E170 (Martin H can probably shed some light on this one!).

Cheers,

N

Nick, try searching Google.

It took me all of 3 minutes to find this...

That should give you a big enough hint.

It actually depends on the operator.

DJs flight crew are cross rated on the E170/E190 (however are EJET only - not B737 as well).

Cabin Crew selected for EJET's are cross rated on all 4 aircraft types (B737 700/800 & both EJETS).

I'm not an EJET pilot so I can't comment on the operational differences - however I would assume it's much the same as flying different types of 737's or A330's - which is a difference in size/weights/speeds or systems as well if typing between classic/ng fleets.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. I know the range of E-Jets were designed to be cross-rated for pilots, but whether all airlines would embrace it is another story. Thanks for the info on cabin crew, as well, that's something which I didn't know!

Can confirm that ZPA is in ADL today. It arrived shortly after 1300L.

Would love to attach a pic, but even a 12.5kb file is too big! Still trying to work out this new board.

Cheers

Nice to see it in ADL.

Had one of the ground crew ask me if I wanted to have a closer look. Got some pics of a fresh new interior and the flight deck etc.

There will be atleast 1 E-Jet delivery every month for the rest of the year!

Do you have a list of delivery dates?
