Here's what those of us who subscribe to ATSB missives just received:

Important new research project
I am pleased to announce an important new research project which will assist the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) to engage and communicate effectively with its many stakeholders as well as the wider Australian community. We are seeking your participation in this research and support in gaining feedback from other people in your industry or organisation.

The outcomes of this research project will significantly guide the ATSB’s communications and education activities in transport safety across the rail, marine and aviation modes.

An independent research consultancy, instinct and reason, has been engaged to conduct this research on our behalf. Their appointment will ensure an objective viewpoint and enable us to offer true confidentiality of response. instinct and reason will conduct all of the research and will report back on an aggregated basis. All contributions will be anonymous and no individuals will be able to be identified.

instinct and reason will be making contact in the coming weeks to invite people to participate in the research and to seek assistance in obtaining the widest possible participation of other people in relevant industries, organisations, media and the community.

Your involvement in this research will be a critical part of this research project. I would, therefore, be very grateful for your participation in and support of the research.

instinct and reason will be making phone calls and sending email invitations in the coming weeks. If you would like to participate, or if you have any further questions regarding the research, please contact instinct and reason via email at rbegg@instinctandreason.com (rbegg@instinctandreason.com) or call Robbie Begg on (02) 9283 2233.

If you have any concerns about the study, you can contact Carl Fellows at the ATSB (email: carl.fellows@atsb.gov.au (carl.fellows@atsb.gov.au), ph: 1800 020 616).

Once the research has been completed, the ATSB will be in touch with you to present our findings. As always, you are welcome to send us your views and comments by emailing atsbinfo@atsb.gov.au (atsbinfo@atsb.gov.au).

Yours sincerely
