When checking the seat map for QF21 SYD-NRT on 14/6 I was surprised to see the entire back of the plane nearly empty.
Seat counter shows all economy fares at 9.
Would someone be able to tell me how the load is looking? Is it really that low or does half the plane not yet have seats assigned?
Cheers,
Will

I have it as showing 165 empty seats in Y with J showing as full.

38% load factor in Y  Hopefully J is all full-fare pax.
Thanks Adam. Should be a comfy flight! :D

165 is nowhere near accurate but you will have room to move :D

I can see 73 unoccupied / unallocated seats as at 04:30 12/06.
Plenty of seats towards the rear of the aircraft.

Agree with Andrew on the commercial sensitivity of disclosing actual loads......
That said the flight is 'wide open' in Y, take a friend and a footy!!!

SOMEONE far more qualified than I will be able to answer this in more detail I'm sure.
However, some time back I flew with QF carrying a very small load of pax through to Asia. The Captain explained to me that they were carrying a huge load of cargo on that flight, hence pax numbers had been resticted.
Do we have any Yield Management people on our message board? Perhaps you could explain "maximum weight loads" on trips such as this?

Sorry a bit off topic. Anyone know the loads of QF430 and QF453 for 15th June?

QF453 seems to be almost exactly half full, QF430 only has a dozen or so Y seats, no J

I'm not yield management BUT presuming a "very small load" means ~25%, that must have been some serious cargo weighing a lot. In fact I wonder what the maximum weight per square metre of an aircraft can handle.
What route was it, by the way?
