Hi all,

Dont know if anyone can help out with this. I have been trying to find the rego of the plane that i did my first overseas trip with. After researching around i think i may have found it and wanted to clarify if my assumption was correct. The flight was SYD - NAN in late march 1993 now from what i gather Air Pacific only had 1 747 going around at that time is this correct?
If so from the information i found it should be VH-EBB Boeing 747-238B. I know the plane was a 747 (up until now i thought it was -400 series but that doesnt seem possible) and was in the Air Pacific livery.
It looks like another 747-238B VH-EBR came into service with Air Pacific on the 06/05/1993 but this would of been well after my flight NAN and even the flight back to SYD.

So would i be right in assuming that this was the aircraft?

VH-EBB leased to Air Pacific 4/91-5/94.

Hi Paul,

Do you know if that was the only 747 Air Pacific had during that time besides the other one i mentioned which came into service in mid 1993?

Thanks,

AFAIK VH-EBB was the only one they had at the time of your flight.

Maybe also of interest.

Air Pacific B747-200 VH-EBK leased from Qantas - September 1985 (quite close to todays livery, and note the Alitalia B747 to the left)

I like the old red service vehicle to the right of the photograph.

Infact, I'm more than likely to get my attention towards 'vintage' vehicles and trucks hanging around airports today than other exotic metal :)

You're right there Browneye. No class and not worthy of appreciation.

Thanks for the information Paul. Like the picture Grahame i was also able to find a picture of VH-EBB in 1992 at Nadi airport, loved there old livery. Looks like VH-EBK went to United Airlines on 28/01/1991 and was scrapped in 2001.

Hi David, I had a quick look through my old albums and found the following shots of early Air Pacific aircraft. Air Pacific leased VH-EBB
from 2nd October 1987 until April 1988, naming the aircraft Island of Viti Levu.

Air Pacific VH-EBB B747-238B Mascot 5/12/1987.

Don't forget about VH-EEI a 747-123 that was running about in Air Pacific colours in the late eighties.
