As per 30JUL10 GDS timetable display, Singapore Airlines has tentatively finalized planned aircraft operation on Singapore – Melbourne route from 31OCT10.

Latest changes below:

SQ227/238 388
SQ217/218 77W
SQ237/228 31OCT10 – 31JAN11 744 01FEB11 - 772

This will most likely be the last chance to catch an SQ 744 in MEL.

This is for Sydney run.


Singapore Airlines is ending First Class service on Singapore – Sydney route from 31OCT10, followed by the aircraft change mentioned on 28JUL10 (http://airlineroute.net/2010/07/28/sq-w10-syd/).
With the aircraft change, SIA’s 777-200ER flights sees 2 different types of configuration operating, as well as 2 Daily A380
Details:

SQ211/232 B7H J38Y228 (New reconfigured 2-class 777-200ER)
SQ241/242 B7E J30Y255 (Business Class SpaceBed configuration)
In addition, there are 2 Daily A380 operation in Suite, Business, Economy Class (R12J60Y399)

Daily capacity offered is 1493 seats one-way in Northern Winter, compared to 1312 in Northern Summer 2010.

The 777-200ER flight to MEL from 01FEB11 (planned as of 31JUL10) is to be the new re-configured 777-200ER, which will be similar to product offering on A330.

That is slightly better news but it's still a mis-match of product offerings!

Long-Haul business class and Regional business class, of which there is a pretty big difference!
