My new Qantas Smart Card and Bag Tags arrived today.
The card has Q Smart Chip technology and activates your flight details when you touch it on the Q Card Reader, automatically checking you in for the flight. Scanning the FF Card at the departure gate produces your boarding receipt with seat number.
The new Q Bag Tags (Marc Newson design) also have the Smart Chip technology and automatically link your baggage with your flight details when you leave your checked bags at the Bag Drop.
There is also a Premium Security Lane to take advantage of at selected airports.
Next Generation Check In starts in Sydney on 10th November at T3 and is already available in Perth where the trials were conducted.
