Took this photo of the final F111 dump and burn before their retirement at the end of the year. The RAAF was booked to make two runs over the Brisbane River last night at their annual River Fire event. The first run opened the fire works and this shot was taken as the second run occurred at the end. But the RAAF threw in a third display higher than the earlier runs and unfortunately didn't have the camera ready.

The F-111 will display at the Williamtown Airshow and that will be the last time we will see a dump and burn before its retirment. The RAAF even have it on their website that this will occur.
Thanks

To clarify, it was the final time the F-111 will perform the dump and burn as part of the Riverfire event here in Brisbane. Lets not get our knickers in a knot over it.
You will most likely find that the final torch will occur at Amberley in the first few days of December as part of planned retirement celebrations.

Nothing wrong with a bit knotting of knickers Mr Murray, and as always your sagelike wisdom prevails in dampening any attempt to flame an otherwise innocuous post purporting to the final activities of the Pig.

Just like Riverfire last year would be the last time to see them. Let's face it, the dump-n-burn is the John Farnham of the aviation world.

At the time of last years riverfire they thought it would be the last as the RAAF had said the F111 would retire in 2010, but had not set the date. Earlier this year the 2nd of December was selected as the date they would retire, hence they were able to do this years event.
So this was the last dump and burn for riverfire, but there will be more including one on their last flight on the 2nd of December.
