A few up coming QF intl fleet and schedule changes:

*The current 5x weekly LAX-JFK-LAX A332 services will increase to 6x weekly from December

*B744 VH-OJR will be retired and withdrawn from service in OCT 2010

*From JAN 1st 2011 BNE-LAX-BNE will increase from 6x weekly to daily, and be operated by B744ER aircraft

*From JAN 1st 2011 SYD-NRT-SYD will be operated by daily B744s. (Currently 6 weekly B744 and 1 weekly A330)

*Current 2 class B744s will be upgraded to 3 class config with the addition of Y+ cabin and will operate SYD-NRT-SYD and SYD-SIN-FRA-SIN-SYD routes.

*From MAR 2011 B73Hs will begin to replace B734s on selected SYD-WLG-SYD and MEL-WLG-MEL services. I assume this will be a new Jetconnect B73H??

Thanks

Sad to see OJR leave... it would be nice to see a 747-400 series at Longreach, but wishful thinking i'm sure.

Further, will the Jetconnect 737-400's return to the mainline domestic services or will they be retired altogether? I see in the latest annual review Qantas was planning to phase out the 737-400.

And finally, will Qantas buy these next 737-800's outright or lease them?

Thanks Dave

Hi All,

Another thought for the -400's is to convert them to freighters for AAE.

AAE dont need a -400. If they were to convert one it would be for Qantas Freight.

Hey guys,

The A332 that does LAX JFK, is this based in the US or does it come from Aust as another flight? If so which flight from Aust is it?

Will be interesting fkying across the pacific in something other then a 747.

Freight dont need any 737's. If they were to get some aircraft they would lease some bigger aircraft.

Mark,
The 330 operates QF141 SYD-AKL early morning then QF25 AKL-LAX before operating to JFK. It then returns to LAX as QF108 and AKL as QF26 and SYD as QF114. Sometimes, they turn the 330 around in AKL back to LAX and not SYD, and having the inbound QF141 that morning turn around and head back to SYD

Looks like QF have changed the timings of QF30 LHR-HKG-MEL from MAR 2011. The flight will now depart LHR in the evening to allow better connections in HKG to the SYD, BNE, and PER flights.

Also looks like the increased A380 flying has been loaded from MAR 28th 2011 onwards.

Here is the new schedule for QF30... http://airlineroute.net/2010/09/29/qf-lhr-s11/

EASTBOUND service rescheduling from 27MAR11. From Heathrow, service departs in late-night instead of noon. Out of Hong Kong, service to Melbourne shifts from daytime to red-eye. With the change, flight arrives Melbourne in morning hours, which opens more connection opportunities to the rest of Australia and New Zealand.

I am booked on a QF MEL-LAX flight next May. It is on a Thursday and was to be operated by a 744, but has since changed to an A380.

With MEL-LAX going to 6x weekly and MEL-SIN-LHR going tp daily A380 services, Melbourne will only get 8x 747 Qantas services a week.

Does anyone think that Qantas will add more 747 services to MEL?
