Malaysia Airlines will launch
a three times weekly service
Between Perth and Kota Kinabalu
from January 18, according to
GDSs. It will operate Boeing 737-
800s on the route. Reservations
are being accepted.

From memory the old Australian Airlines (AO) served Kota Kinabalu from Sydney for a short time.

It marketed the destination as "Sabah" which is the Malaysian state where BKI is located.

Correct.

AO7829/7830 used to operate SYD-BKI and return.

I wonder if Jetstar will start a BKI service or make a return to KUL?

It marketed the destination as "Sabah" which is the Malaysian state where BKI is located.

I was at SYD, Feb 5th 2005 and Australian Airlines Flight AO7864 was departing for Sabah
