From airliners.net
Today both AA and Jetstar signed an agreement for both codeshare and interline for several flights in New Zealand.
American will place their code on the following flights:
Auckland – Christchurch
Auckland – Queenstown
Auckland – Wellington
Christchurch – Queenstown
Christchurch – Wellington
More on the interline agreement and codeshare between the two airlines.

Makes sense - AA already codeshares with QF on flights in Australia (both airlines are in Oneworld), so they don't need to do the same with JQ in Australia.
Smart move by AA, I don't think domestic NZ was covered by them in terms of codesharing, etc after Jetconnect left domestic NZ to Jetstar.
