Just noticed today on Airliners.net that the new MH 737-800s (eventually replacing the 737-400s) seem to be carrying an updated version of the MH livery.

I must say it looks rather nice, especially since I never really was a big fan of the grey underbellies.

Just wondering if this new livery will be phased in to include the rest of the MH fleet?

Cheers

In my opinion, this is very disappointing. MH had a great opportunity to do something special, given they have not updated their corporate logo in nearly two decades, but this is bland and totally uninspiring.

Come on Malaysia Airlines - you can do better than that!

Hmm guess i got my hopes up for nothing with that other 738 in the new livery.

MH had a great opportunity to do something special, given they have not updated their corporate logo in nearly two decades...

Couldn't agree more. Most airlines at least try to re-invent themselves every once in a while. Well, its been a very long while in the case of MH.

I disagree James. I think it's very contemporary and a vast improvement on the old 'cheatline' style. I like the colour added to the fuselage as well.

Certainly a lot more inspiring than a plain white body and a red tail with a revised roo and updated black font.

As much as I'm not a JQ fan (due to experiences as a passenger), I do like their livery and believe it to be the standard around here.

I think the old livery looks much better, the new livery is same with most other airlines, all white.

I completely agree, and this photo only serves to reinforce that fact:

I agree that it's an improvement in the sense that it presents a fresh and newer image.

Not that I dislike the current scheme, but I still believe after all these years with the same corporate colours, they could have done something completely eye catching and stunning, to distinguish themselves in a highly competitive market.

This half hearted attempt by retaining largely the same font style and exactly the same tail design, in my view, falls far short of any "wow" factor.

I also agree it's going to look just plain boring on an aircraft the size of the 744 or A380.
