Changing from Jetstar to Qantas flight

Hi all

I booked a flight with Jetstar a few weeks back for around $400, as they were cheaper than a comparable Qantas flight by about $100. Last week I noticed that Qantas have re-introduced some Red e-deal tickets for a flight about 15 minutes after the one I booked, and are are actually cheaper than the Jetstar ticket I purchased.

Is there any chance of me being able to change to the Qantas flight without (much) penalty?

Qantas and Jetstar are operated independently Unless you booked the Jetstar flight though Qantas's website which I believe isn't possible without connecting QF>JQ I would doubt you'd be able to change between brands without paying the QF fare and forfeiting the JQ fare.

Thanks for your reply. If it helps, I did book the Jetstar flight through the Qantas website as a return flight for my trip.
