Air New Zealand purchases Boeing 747-400

All, I read on another forum and also the the Air New Zealand Investor Day Presentation material that Air New Zealand has purchased another 747-400 (for $15 million). I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light if the 747 is bought from one of their leased aircraft or one to be added from outside? A rego would be nice too!

$15m? Even if it's more expensive to run than a 77W, the $200m in purchase price difference will make it worth while for a few years and it's not like the 744 can't do the business (as it currently does) :cool:

I wonder whether the $15 million was paid by NZ or by Boeing , bearing in mind that the first 787-9s were originally due to enter service this month I would imagine that Boeing owe NZ quite a lot of compensation , perhaps this buyout of the lease is part of the compensation package ?
