For those who might find it useful (and know what it is), we've switched on the Board's RSS feed.

You can call the feed via:

http://yssyforum.net/board/external.php?type=rss (RSS)
http://yssyforum.net/board/external.php?type=rss1 (RSS 1.0)
http://yssyforum.net/board/external.php?type=rss2 (RSS 2.0)

You can call specific forums by adding the switch &forumids=1,2,3 . In this case, forum numbers 1, 2 and 3 will be fed. You can find out the 'number' of each forum by mousing over the main forum link, and noting the number at the end of the URL (eg. http://yssyforum.net/board/forumdisplay.php?f=2 ).

For example, http://yssyforum.net/board/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=4,8 will feed 'International Industry' and 'Spotting & Movements'. Change 'rss2' to 'rss1' or 'rss' as required.

By adding the switch &lastpost=true , threads will be returned in descending order based on the date of the last post of the thread. Description information will be returned from the last post of the thread.

Eg. http://yssyforum.net/board/external.php?type=rss2&lastpost=true

And there endeth our technical support on the RSS function (and the sum total of my limited knowledge of the subject). Please PM me if you experience any bugs, or have any suggestions.

Cheers, Will

Thanks Will.

I'm new to this RSS Feeds stuff. I have added the feed to my email client and Opera Mini. Does the feed display new threads only but not new posts?

Thanks :)

Michael

Michael,
To tell you the truth, I really don't know enough about RSS feeding, beyond the setup on this Board. Perhaps Knudders or Scott Lindsell might be able to shed some light on what they can be used for?

Thanks for the RSS feed, have now stopped using uit.

The reason it was only provding the top few lines of each new post, and not any subsequent posts on that topic.

Had then to come back to the full board, to keep up-to-date on my topics of interest.
