Looks like Iron maiden are using a 757 to get around on their current tour. The Australian tour starts in late Feb. Hopefully it makes its way out here.

The lead singer of Iron Maiden, Paul (Bruce) Dickinson is also a pilot for Astraeus Airlines, the operator of the 757 they are using for the tour

Any idea which aircraft there are using?same as last tour?

It will be G-STRX Phil. On PP forum it was logged over Clacton being filmed in formation with some Jet Provosts! (Surely they could have used more modern a/c:rolleyes:) It still would have been good to see all the same.

Arrived in Singapore yesterday morning. Next stop in Indonesia with concerts in Jakarta and Bali before heading down under.

Using the same callsign as last visit "Flystar 666" (AEU666)

Or you could just go and see the Air Niugini Flight that comes in on Fridays, or maybe the DHL freighter?

I have not seen the Air Nuigini flight on Fridays as I am usually not free to go to the airport that day. As for the DHL, i do remember seeing that once, but it was a while ago.

You have to attach them to your post instead of link to an external website ... or you can use the [ IMG ] BB Code (without spaces).

The new livery looks even better than the last one, not to say that the last one wasn't bad to begin with!

Why are they using callsign "Flystar 666"? I thought they use "Edforce 1".

Tony P

The callsign they used into Melbourne was "Alpha Echo Uniform 666"

Russ I think they use it everywhere they go the last time I think it was the same, or something 666 they must be devil worshipers...... Just kidding.

Cheers Jaryd and Tony,

They must change it every now and then. They were using "Edforce One" in a youtube video I watched a while back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzwAxZ6rad8

And nice shot Lee, that's some incredible tail art!

Sorry for qualty thought I had a zoomed pic but title is "Somewhere back in time world tour 08"

Hi Peter,

Spotted G-OJIB in Phuket on the 15/02/2011 operating for Astraeus on a charter in a all over white paint.

Nice Michael, seems their 757's are in white schemes as I logged G-STRX and G-STRY at Heathrow in May'08 operating for BMI (both all white)

Can someone make a prediction for what RWY she will use tommorrow?

I know no one can be 100% sure but anyone who knows Sydney well might be able to give a good prediction. My guess is 34R but I'm hoping for a 34L arrival.

It should be a 16right arrival according to the weather forecast.

Nigel C
27th February 2011, 04:17 AM
Now due in at ~1130...a rain band is pushing up from the south, so the winds may shift to allow a 16L/R arrival.

It's always been there Andrew. Haven't seen them move it since the band got back from BNE.

Hi Jayden,

i've seen them tow the aircraft to the Qantas Jet-base on both mornings of the 28th and 1st and then back to DOM 6 about 12pm. Presumably because of parkingcongestion on SACL bays.
