Qantas has warned travellers in Western Australia to allow an additional 30 minutes check-in time from tomorrow as it upgrades check-in systems at Perth’s domestic terminal and regional WA airports.
Online check-in from Perth will be unavailable between May 17 and July 26. The upgrades will occur on domestic flights from July 26 to 31, and for international flights from August 30 to September 5.

Well it will (initially) make a bad situation worse, but whatever.

Quite a long time for no online check in though.

Hopefully the new system can process pax quickly

Extra 30 mins delay? That means get there about 4-5 hours before your flight and you should make it ok

Such a good point too.

Its so frustrating knowing that for a midnight flight, one must be there by 10-10:30 at the latest to ensure bags get boarded and everything goes okay with no stress.

Everytime i do it i think of people in MEL/SYD who have to get there 1, maybe half hour before boarding...have time to eat, and get on a plane (not to mention one doesnt (effectively) spend 6+ hrs travelling.
