It's always a shame to see a bird leave our skies but it happens. If I'm not mistakened this is Qantas' oldest current aircraft in the fleet having being built in 1988. QF 767's seem to be sold quickly and easily going by OGA/OGC/OGD so VH-OGB probably won't stay too long..

And HNL is the last remaining INTL port serviced by the B763. Apparently HNL will revert to an A330 from the end of the year.

How much is it listed for? I would buy it if I had the money :D

OGB is sitting at the Jetbase along the fence at QF Drive for anyone who is interested.

Is there room for a photo op? Even if it is just the tail and the rego?

Yes there is. It is right at the Jet Base entrance so it is probably at the best position for a photo. You might have a fence obscuring a little but it should be a good photo op, depending where you are standing.

Very pleased I was able to fly on her a few months back. Despite the age (and the old seat covers) the cabin felt no older than the much newer OGR I had on the way back.

Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough :D

Out of interest, this is the last 763 to leave the fleet that was delivered in the original 3 class configuration, with P and J separated by a divider down the middle, as opposed to across the cabin.

OGA, OGB, OGC and OGD were delivered in this layout

That divider down the middle of the cabin was cool - anyone have any photos at all, it seems so long ago.

This product manual has a seat map of the 763 from 1989 on page 28

N362CM is a reserved registration at present, reserved by Cargo Aircraft Management Inc in Orlando Florido.

How do i get to the jetbase entrance? And where do i park

thanks :)

Nowhere to park Alexander. The best thing to do is probably park somewhere around the domestic terminal and walk. The people who spot at the end of 16R might have a spot to park along QF drive but I think many of them have been blocked off.

Does anyone know when VH-OGB will be heading of for the states?

Thanks

VH-OGB just left 34L direct for Male. The MSN number & text "Boeing 767-300" was on the port side just under the last cabin door. Flight number was ATN103.

Is it safe to assume that the seats, galleys and lavs were all removed prior to sale/departure?

Raymond Rowe
8th July 2011, 10:05 PM
no they are usually sold as is with all seats and galleys.

Departed with registration N362CM, is going first to Isreal for conversion to freighter, then onto ATI. Will most probably see it back in Aus.

Silly question - who flies it? QF pilots delivering it to trhe new owners or the new owners and their pilots?

Jon Harris
19th September 2011, 11:36 AM
Not a silly question at all - I've wondered the same thing. Maybe the pilots from the new carrier purchasing it? I don't know but it's a good question Chris.

It depends where its going and who is buying it.

OGB was flown out by its new owners I believe. The previous ones that headed for the desert were flown by QF crews.

I guess this is the relevant thread..

Former Qantas 767 VH-OGA has resurfaced as N316CM for Air Transport International (ATI).

Why Qantas could not convert them for there use is beyond me!

Shayne G
25th September 2011, 08:48 PM
That is true Brian, I never really understood that either. Maybe it just had to do with timing or perhaps they wanted a newer build frame with less cycles.

OGF is currently sitting in the same position as the other retired 763's stripped of all titles except rego. (Which is still Aussie....VH-OGF)

Fred C

VH-OGF will leave our shores today at 1400. I think it is now N318CM.:D
