I'm flying business class on the 737-800 soon. Is it much similar to the 767's in terms of seats, etc? I know the cabin is much smaller but I'm unsure about the other features.

The B737-800s have 12 seats, with a pitch of 35.0" and a width of 20.0".

The domestic B767-300s have 30 seats, with a pitch of 50.0" and a width of 20.0".

The QF 737-800 has the Millenium seat in J with 12 seats in a 2x2 config. These are the same seats as the ones on the 767 but without in-seat power.

The only ecxeption is the newly delivered VZL which I beleive is different.

Oliver, the domestic 767 does not have a seat pitch of 50 inches, that is the dreamtime seat.

The domestic B767-300s a pitch of 50.0" width of 20.0".

The pitch on the 73H in J is 37". The seats are 21" wide.

As has been said, the domestic 763s feature 38' pitch and 20" width.

The 73H J seats are wider than the domestic 763s.

Chris, the smaller business class cabin was the appeal for me in choosing that particular flight. As we all know, the allocation of planes is subject to last minute changes, but yes, it would be nice to fly business class on the 737-800.

I'm 6ft10 and found the 73 biz seats much roomier width and leg wise than the 76

On my return flight, which is in economy, all seats in the front section (I would say the first 20 or so rows) of the economy class cabin were unavailable to be selected. Is this normally the case so higher tier ff members can pre-select their preferred seats? Do airlines release more seats in this section of the plane as the date of departure approaches, and if so, how far ahead of departure do they release these seats?

I have found about three or four days prior to the flight they release more seats.
