View Full Version : Thousands face disruption from looming Qantas Strikes

A STRIKE planned by Qantas engineers for Monday could leave passengers stranded over the school holidays.
The airline was at loggerheads with its engineers union yesterday with Qantas demanding the strike be called off and the union warning they were ready to make a stand "until the cows come home".

Will be interesting to see if it actually goes ahead this time.

Yes we'll have to wait and see.

I did hear a radio interview with the union rep who said that they would make sure that another shift would be called in to cover the 2 hour strike (on Monday) and that this 'relief crew' would be on overtime rates??:confused:

Just to repeat my post on the Tiger Airways grounding thread, the union has called off strike action so as not to add to the problems that will be caused by pax trying to re-book flights with other airlines (including Qantas/Jetstar).
