If you need to photograph G-BMRJ make it soon ,as it will be leaving theses shores to take up residency in India for another DHL affiliate there .
Here is confirmation , grabbed from the BHX spotters forum in the UK .
Due 21/22 July will post details when known
B757F en route to Tasman Cargo Auckland. Being delivered to DHL AIR where it will take up it's old Airtours reg G-CSVS. Not sure how long the N Reg will be on suspect a few days whilst the transfer of reg takes place. Anticipated to be at EMA for couple of weeks at least. The current Tasman aircraft G-BMRJ which has been down there for a while is expected to go to Blue Dart India another DHL Airline for a period whilst they wait another B757F

Precision Conversion has been awarded the contract to provide DHL with a full 15-pallet position 757-200 PCF freighter. The 1992 ex-Air Greenland, Rolls-Royce powered, Boeing 757-236 (msn 25620) was acquired for conversion at the end of March and will be redelivered in June 2011.

Does anyone know what happened to the old B727 DHL crew? Were they meant to be trained on the B757, or did the change of aircraft make them redundant?

G-BMRJ will leave at the end of August, so there is still some time left for those interested to catch it. :D

I'd like to know this as well, I always hear the pilots of G-BMRJ on the scanner with an English accent rather than Australian/NZ.

I think they were made redundant as the DHL Air 757 was wet leased so they had their own crew. When I spoke to them last year the tech crew were all looking for other employment.

DHL Air 757 was wet leased so they had their own crew
That is correct,
the current was wetleased for about a year which is perfect timing since it'll leave nearly on the one year anniversary since the B727 left our skies. I don't think the new 757 is wetleased so we may see the return of the B727 pilots if they have been certified to fly the 757! :D

Here is the latest from my mates at the BHX spotters Forum in the UK
G-CSVS is on a test flight Monday at 1300LT for 2hr 30mins then off EMA-BAH-SIN-SYD-AKL on Thursday departing at 1000LT
It will replace G-BMRJ which will come back in the other direction before going off to Blue Dart India (on g reg)
G-CSVS will get a VH reg once Tasman AOC is approved so it's unikely to be seen in either guise in the UK again.

So if timing are correct it should be arriving SYD late on Friday evening 12th August ..

Great info there David... Would this be the first VH reg 757, or have there been others, even on a temporary basis?
Its a pity that there wasn't any, in either QF or even AN at the time...

The only VH reg B757 that I am aware of is VH-AWE which was owned by Ansett (AWAS) and was usually on lease to overseas airlines. I was lucky to see the back end of it in a hangar at Tulla in Oct'93. Very rarely seen in Oz.

There have two others to my knowledge on the VH reg , VH-BRN a freighter op by DHL mainly and VH-NOF a pax version operated by Guyana Air 2000.. I know of no more , of course I stand corrected if there are ..

Peter I'm correct in assuming that the B757 never wore Ansett titles?

Yes Raymond, wasn't aware of that. Only saw the Air Crash Investigation report on TV recently, reg was A9C-DHL; accident was on 1st July 2002.
Jaryd, no it never wore Ansett titles (shouldn't of mentioned Ansett) as it belonged to AWAS (Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services) which was a seperate company that still operates. AWAS did lease a/c to Ansett (their first 12 737-300's).

A/C have winglets?

20th August 2011, 07:31 PM
No Brian it doesn't, looks pretty much identical to G-BMRJ, bar the new RB211-535E4's compared to the C4's, that's the only noticeable difference.
Looked like it was fresh out of the paint factory too.
