Since the article was written/uploaded today, I'm under the impression that the incident occured yesterday (26th July 2011)


The Hong Kong-bound aircraft returned yesterday after the Rolls-Royce engine shut down 20 minutes into the flight "due to surge and high vibrations," said Nicholas Ionides, a spokesman for Singapore Air.

According to The Aviation Herald:

25th July 2011 and the aircraft involved was 9V-SKH operating SQ-856. Replacement aircraft was 9V-SKB with a total delay time of around 4.5 hours.
