USAF C17 in SYD today (31st July)

USAF C-17 03-3124 arrived in SYD as Reach 275 around 3pm today. Not sure of origin, first hit on PP was at FL340 and only picked up by the guys near SYD at first.

She looks very new.

Looking at the serial number its a 2003 fiscal year aircraft, so maybe as young as 6 years if ordered in 2003 and say flew in 2005. It does look almost freshly painted - may have just had a major overhaul.

Does look 'new' but as Damien suggested it has been cleaned up. I did log this a/c at Frankfurt (when the USAF had a big presence there) in May 2005 along with 21 other C-17's and 5 C-5's over 3 days.

Found this pic taken at Frankfurt the day I logged 03-3124 (22/5/05), I think its amongst the 12 C-17's and 3 C-5's parked there.
