Hi Shayne!

Pardon my ignorance- does this mean Kalitta arrives Sydney 0615 Tues 9-8-11 and

Hi John,
It is scheduled to depart 6:15am that day and arrival is unkwown at this time.

Kallita says arrival is 2:15am that morning, I don't think it will be allowed in during curfew, I don't know what is has on board or if it has any sort of exemption that may allow it to land during curfew.
I suspect it may arrive early on 9/8/11 and depart late that day but at this time it is scheduled to arrive 2:15am on the 9th and depart 6:15am on the 9th!
As time gets closer more details will be known but I'd say anyone spotting in the morning on the 9th will see it in some form!

Well things are now looking promising...

'CKS367' has begun it's journey to Sydney, that is the Flight ID on the inbound flight. As expected 'N708CK' is the aircraft. The flight is originating from Chicago and there was a few stops on the way.

It was the info I got from the Kalitta site.... I thought it was odd timings, but I was just following what was infront of me.

Landed about 12.10pm. Looked great with Aerolineas taking off in the opposite direction from 16L as the Kalitta B742 arrived on 34L

The B742 departed as 'CKS9217' to Hong Kong. She was airbourne around 3:59pm a bit earlier then expected.

It was a special treat to see such a classic in Sydney, the airframe is rich in history and her engines, we do not see in Sydney at all now! If anyone else wants to post their photos in this thread I'd love to see them, this is what the forum is about! ;) :D

From what I understand, this flight was operating for/chartered by UPS. Quite a few UPS containers & mail was seen being offloaded. So we may possibly see it back in the near future :) HOPEFULLY :)

Beautiful shots! beautiful plane! I would of loved to have seen her. :(
Do Southern air still operate to Sydney?

The JT9D's sound much better than the CF6's on Southern Air's 747's IMO anyway, I miss seeing/hearing them on what used to be the two daily JAL 747 flights, it's amazing to think that they don't even operate the 747 at all now.

Would've loved to have seen this bird, oh well, hopefully she'll come back in the future! :)

Hi all,
The schedule kept changing earlier this week with different rego's, now aircraft is a B747-400 (N745CK) , I'm sorry if anyone was hoping to see a classic, there is a small chance it might revert back to a classic before Wednesday.
Also the timing has changed, if I have converted time properly should arrive early Wednesday morning and depart around 4:15pm.
