Anyone know where these aircraft are? OJI last arrived in Brisbane on Aug15 and looks to have not flown since, and OQB looks to have been in LA the last week. Anyone know any details?

OQB is in LAX with an engine problem since Monday. Was due to be fixed on the weekend.

What has happened to VXB? According to 'The Qantas Source' it hasn't flown since July 27.

Have you ever thought it is close to 10 years of age and might be in for a major overhaul and repaint.

Simon, VH-OJI couldn't be in BNE, its ferrying in from Singapore (http://www.sydneyairport.com.au/Sacl/Flight-Search.html?flight=QF6005) this morning as QF6005 due at 10:10am.

OJI was involved in an incident during takeoff from Singapore as QF52 to Brisbane on Aug 14. Dumped fuel, then performed an emergency landing.
It was then disabled just off the runway and passengers had to be bussed back to the terminal. Apparently there was extensive gear damage.

VH-OJI was in involved in a landing gear incident about 2 months ago in Singapore as well. I wonder if it is related. Apart from the ferry flight back to Sydney, it hasn't flown since the 14th so it could be quite extensive.
Surprised this hasnt been reported in the media

Why do Qantas fly planes back empty eg OQB from LAX to MEL this week. Would they have any cargo allocated to them? How much fuel would they use? Also the emply ferry flights the A380 does to Melbourne on Thursdays and return to Sydney on Tiesday, how many tonnes of fuel would they use?
