Adhoc charter and or a weekly flight?

lloyd fox
1st September 2011, 02:34 PM
Actually very interesting as i have noticed over past few weeks FIFO into BNE from WOL.In today's Courier Mail there is a article about Pelair SF340 flights have already commenced out of WOL to EMD via BNE.They have then said that QFlink are also planning 70 seater Q400 flights as well.

So it appears as though Skytrans have also jumped on the bandwagon as well.

From the SMH:
QantasLink already operates 55 and 70-seater aircraft out of Illawarra and the council is in talks with The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) about approvals for larger aircraft after a study showed widening the Illawarra airstrip would allow 100-seater aircraft to land.

When did QF start back in Wollongong, and how can they be using 70-seaters if they're still working with CASA for an exemption!?

Max C

No current Q-Link service.

Is there anything of note expected to be in Sydney tomorrow? Myself and a fellow Canberra spotter will be around tomorrow, keep an eye out for a white Lancer with ACT plates at the mound and beach.

VH-VZR, the latest QF B738 is currently overhead Wollongong en route to Melbourne as QF6024.

Another great shot Lee - would I be correct in saying this is the first A380 with a decal/special livery?

Shayne G
2nd September 2011, 06:28 PM
Hi Sarah,

I don't think so, Qantas had VH-OQB wear an "We just love footy" decal for a very short time and Emirates A380 had A6-EDH wear an "6000th Airbus" decal. However all 'special decals' have been short lived, maybe this one will last a while :D

Nice to hear the JT8D's again too, I was waiting to get picked up at school and heard a plane thinking that's pretty loud, and I saw the MD-82, and WOW it sure did gain altitude quickly!

Nice to see something different here in Sydney, hope we get it more often!

9th September 2011, 11:14 AM
Good guess Peter! It departed CBR this morning I am told.

Also, Last nights DHL service returned to the gate about 11:02pm missing curfew and looks to be departing shortly. It was acctually taxiing up Bravo for 16R when I saw it.

Nigel C
9th September 2011, 02:17 PM
It didn't 'miss curfew'. They had taxi clearance before time on the hour so could have departed but were advised by ATC when they were at the B2 holding point that they had to return to the gate due to an 'engineering issue'. The crew didn't seem to be aware that they had a problem.

Peter Agatsiotis

One for Tim maybe and meant to post earlier.

On the 12th we had an unidentified Thai jet descend from 32000 to 12000.
This aircraft then departed on the 14th and climbed to 33000.

Would be either Canberra or Williamtown as I lost it at 12000 and regained at 12000 (on the 14th)

Could be Thai AF? Hexcode 880049

(The Thai AF A319 HS-TYR was in Canberra I think the week before!)

Tim Bowrey
20th September 2011, 12:26 PM
Peter HS-TYR A319 was in CBR on Sept 7th from Paya Lebar I beleive.

On the 12th which you mentioned it was Thai AF A310 HS-TYQ which arrived and departed CBR on the 14th both from/to DMK.

TG475/476 is a B773 this morning. Rego is HS-TKC.
The B773's will be on this flight til the 27th of September. The A346's that would normally operate this flight has been put on one of the BKK-MEL-BKK flights (TG465-466). So basically both SYD and MEL have swapped for a couple of days.

Not sure the reason though.

Not really noteworthy but last Sunday an MD 11 N273UP came in about 1pm and departed about 3:20pm apparently it was on a military charter flight, it was my 1st MD-11 I've seen taking off.

Brad,

The last time the Thai B777 were in Sydney would be around around the middle of last year when the changed permanantly to A346's. I think a couple have been through due to an A346's gone u/s. I stand corrected on this though

May aswell note it now,

MH6203 this Tuesday will be the final Southern Air 747-200F visit. Starting next month it will be replaced by MASkargo B744's while the MH6173 will now be operated by their brand new A330-200F.

So this means the end has come for regular classic visitors.

MH6203 this Tuesday will be the final Southern Air 747-200F visit. Starting next month it will be replaced by MASkargo B744's while the MH6173 will now be operated by their brand new A330-200F.

So this means the end has come for regular classic visitors.

According to this promo on the MASkargo webiste. MH6203/6204 will remain as a B742 and B6173/6174 will remain a B744. The A332 is not scheduled to stater on Sydney services, not to say that it won't turn up unannounced...

Hey Stefan,
I guess I should of not made it sound like it would be definately the last 742F flight to Sydney. I have looked up the MASkargo site and have now seen the promo you are refering to. The promo is interesting however the schedule tends to agree with my info meaning the website sort of contradicted itself there.
The schedule tends to confirm what I have said and I also have been told by a very reliable source MASkargo A330s will be coming to Sydney, though no date was said but the A330F will be coming to Sydney. I have also noticed Southern Air 747 classics operating for MASkargo have been reduced in number. On the other hand that promo does seem newer then my info I've had for around a month so right now it is very confusing.

My previous post can be taken with a grain of salt, but the 742F days are indeed numbered in Sydney and it is a possibility this Tuesday is the last visit therefore I am suggesting spotters should catch it incase it is the last one and they have not yet caught or heard the beauty.

Cheers.

I mean it could be last scheduled Southern Air 742 service to Sydney . I was talking about Southern Air/MASkargo not all in general. After they leave any 747 classics visiting will be very rare.

They have changed the schedule for Sydney since I checked it this afternnon. I checked the schedule at 1500, prior to my post on this thread a couple of replies ago. IF they had changed the schanged the schedule then, I would not have posted the prom with the initial A332F's routes.

That is the 2nd time they have done that to me...

Both Nigel and even Shayne are correct. MH613/6174 will be A332F's from next Tues 04/10/11. That means Adelaide will be lucky this coming Tuesday 27/9/11 when most poroabably the last Southern Air B742 comes to town after operating MH6203 from Sydney. Will overnight and depart Wednesday morning.

Keep an eye out for VH-XFB, should be sporting an AFL decal

Radi the decal is only visible from below unfortunately and should be used primarily for the AFL GF.

Hey Guys and Gals,

Was sitting in traffic on Princes Hwy and watched a 777 depart 34L at 1720. Couldn't make out the tail but clearly saw the word CARGO on the fuselage.

Certainly wasn't any of the usual suspects. Any ideas anyone?

Cheers,
Neil.
