Happy New Year All
Just monitoring Malaysia B737-800 9M-MXG climbing to FL340.
Checked my SBS log which is showing it arrived here on the 29th Dec (down to 6000')!
Didn't see any reports so a bit clueless.
I was at SYD yesterday and nobody mentioned it so if anyone can help out?

I believe this is 9M-ATM, I don't know why an improper aircraft type and reg is displaying for it though.

Anyone know if Cathay cargo is coming in this afternoon? Thanks.
Stefan Perkas
1st January 2012, 02:21 PM
Tony,
Doesn't appear to be anything due today according to CX Cargo's arrival and departures site or Hong Kong Airport. But there is one tomorrow arriving at 1050 and another one on Tuesday arriving at the same time.
SQ, MH and CX seem to reduce operation sover XMAS/New year period. I think there was one SQ on Friday morning, I noticed last night on flightradar24 MAS Kargo sent the A332F 9M-MUA as MH6207.

This one had no rego number however a worthy movement. This balloon flew in between runways 34L ad 34R this morning. It was quite big and would have been an issue for an aircraft engine. Tower had requested airport cars to bring it down which was quite comical as the ballon was rising.

Did Aeroflot bring one of these to Sydney during the Olympics? I remember seeing either one of these or an IL-86. But I can't imagine they would fly one of those heaps of crap out here.
Yes Brett, we had 2 IL-96's at the Olympics, one Aeroflot and one Domodedovo (the latter parked at BNE but couldn't get a side on shot as there was a B727 in the way)
Some old photos plus an IL86 at Singapore in 1990

Well it's definately planned to leave tomorrow but timing is very subject to change, should be 9am or the 'morning' in general.
Where will you be filming it from Dan? :D

Yes mate, damn if I could find the actual photo of the Domodedovo kite for scanning.
Only reason I was in BNE was that the lead up to the Olympics had rumours of 20+ airliners to be parked at BNE so booked a flight up there a few weeks in advance. Big disappointment as there was only the IL96, the Kuwait MD80 and the 2 B757's Bill Gates bought in.

Will depend on runway ops. If 16R, might have to go to the Tower Mound. If 34L, I'll consider Swamp Rd for that overhead pass that should sound amazing.
But either spot would be good for either direction... hmmmm, decisions!

Thanks to you gents who got shots of the IL-96 and have posted them up. Living out of Sydney precludes me the chance to come in and try and see this aircraft in the flesh.

Kieran looks to of gotten the info off SACL which lists that exact flight there. A similar flight is listed on SACL that was due from HNL at 1900hrs. So that info may not be related to the Il-96.
Interestingly SACL also lists "NNN5585" which was suppose to arrive from ADL tonight around 1755hrs.

Ok, I'm thinking Swamp Rd regardless of Runway ops in the morning. If it's 16 (likely) then at least I should have a chance to see it taxi alongside the domestic terminal and hold for takeoff. Too many obstacles for video at the mound and a lot of risk in stuffing up the 'pan' as the plane rolls past!

Was this taken last night?
As we were ushered out by the security rather early last night (at the beach), I saw this bird park on a gate. From afar, I thought what a cool colour scheme, not knowing she was taking off later that night. It got dark rather quickly last night.

A shot of both JA732J and A6-EHD from this morning....
Hi Jaryd,
I didn't think there would be such a great light as your photos shown, after last night's storm. Good to see JAL B77W, as notified by another member earlier. Will this become a regular thing or a one off?
Cheers,
HB

Hi Chris,
It's all good. The info was posted from the Sydney Airport account, in attempt to raise awareness that SACL will report any adhoc freight flights on their Aviation Page. They (SACL/the User) may not be aware of "our" procedure re a movements thread, so kudos to Tim for keeping everyone aligned.
You will also find, courtesy of Jayden, this thread was the most informed on this topic even before the SACL post ;). So we're still in good shape.

Hoping to see their B744F in the mix.
Plan to spend some valuable spotting time on Saturday. Might consider staying as late as the 7pm time mentioned above, pending aircraft. =)

Good shot Chris.
You must be well equipped to do shooting at Brighton. No haze from there, even during late evening? Referring to your comments and past shot re: Brighton.
Always missed out on the good stuff. Any worthwhile mention for tomorrow? Planning to go tomorrow morning.
Cheers,
