Morning all!
I've finally finished my trip report from a couple of weeks ago flying on the first ever Emerald-Brisbane sector operated by Virgin Australia. I have posted it on my blog - you can access here - http://tinyurl.com/754fk6j (http://tinyurl.com/754fk6j)
As you'll see, it was a quiet start to the service with 25 pax on the flight, although the afternoon Brisbane-Emerald was a lot busier. I have since seen a couple more Virgin departures from Emerald that have been quite busy!
I wish Virgin all the best for the future of this service!
Cheers

Great report.
Not having flown Virgin for many years, is complimentary meals in economy standard on all flights in the new guise as Virgin Australia?
Cheers

Nope, you get water/tea/coffee!
You can buy from their very boring on-board menu!
You only get a decent meal included when you purchase the Flexi Fare (which is not that flexible) funnily enough

Thanks Andrew. However on the flights operated by Skywest you get a meal? Or is that only on flexi fare also?
Cheers

All Skywest operated flights, as well as fully Virgin operated SYD-CBR and MEL-CBR flights get complimentry meals with all fares.

That's the first I have heard the MEL-CBR flights get free meals on Virgin, where was this announced ?

I wasn't aware of it until just after takeoff on my recent Canberra-Melbourne flight...

Re: the onboard 'snack' service...
I was surprised too about the free snack - I would say that since the flight is operated by Skywest for Virgin Australia that full service is provided... albeit a snack service!
I was on a cheap airfare and was treated the same as the flexi-fare passengers - although two passengers were seated by themselves in the front row - thinking back these could have been flexi-fare or high ranking Velocity members - possibly premium economy but I doubt that...
Cheers
