Dave think you are reading more into it than what is there. The reference to them coming in jumbos is actually refering to foreign workers in general, not specificly flying them direct to the mine on a jumbo. Call it poetic licence on behalf of news limited.

Alliance now has a 737-400 in their colours, leased from AirWork (ZK-JTQ). Perhaps their venture into bigger jets might play a part in the FIFO workforce of the future?

A new jet airport at Alpha has always been on the plans and now they may just extend the runway to cater for heavies.This is Queensland and things do get done particularly when the mining industry is worth billions and billions.
