First noteworthy movement for the new month was VH-TJW (no titles & no roo on the tail) ferrying out to Apia as QF6027. It departed runway 16R!!

1st March 2012, 02:23 PM
VH-TJW is continuing on to HNL from Apia. It appears to be ferrying to somewhere in the US for storage.
These QF 734s, 763s and B744s are starting to drop like flies! :(

Afternoon all,
Looking at flightradar24 VH-OJT inbound as QF6022. I presume arrving back from Guangzhou and in the new livery.

According to ACARS 16 right.com QF108 that arrived this morning was operated by
A380 VH-OQI. This is a bit unusual for this flight, anyone know why?

G'day Jim
Looks like there was no QF11 out of SYD on Wed and no QF12 scheduled into SYD today, from QF website. So assume they operated the single service as QF107/108 because of the JFK tag?
Cheers

Morning all,
Both planefinder and libhomeradar confirm that CZ325/326 today 7/3/12 is being operated A330-200 B-6531.
Looking at 16right. the aircraft has visited once before on 11-11-11 as CZ325/326.
This is not a common one to visit Australia, it is mainly seen on Auckland flights. The A332's that visit Australia (mainly Melbourne) are B-6056/6057/6058 & 6059.

Hey Jaryd, this is where I got my info from, http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightStatus/flightStatusByFlight.do?airline=HA&flightNumber=451&departureDate=2012-03-06&utm_source=airlineInformationAndStatus&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=co-op hasn't been updated for 160 minutes apparently, so the arrival time could've changed. G'day Jaryd. Was more suggesting that a 24 min turn for an international 767 was a bit of a stretch as opposed to anything else. Just checked SYD website and it's showing as ETA 2205L and ETD 2255L. Haha 50 min I can almost believe!
Brad Varney
7th March 2012, 09:45 PM
Crap! 2255, wander if it'll make it out or not.
No worries Jaryd, i'm trying to get some photos of them as well, mostly the winglet one's.
It's petty hard for me to see Hawaiian. :( Shame they wont come in an hour earlier when daylight saving ends. eg 1820
A very well down job by the crew, ground, ect I bet they were pushing the passengers onto the plane :D haha
I wander if an A330 could've done a turnaround as fast as that?

According to HA and SYD websites HA452 departed SYD at 2257L, having arrived at 2203L. Pretty decent effort!!

Apparently Newcastle has an unscheduled visitor today....
A QANTAS 747 flight carrying 220 passengers and running low on fuel has been forced to land at a regional airport this morning.
The flight, en route from Hong Kong to Sydney, was diverted to Newcastle’s Williamtown Airport where it had to be refuelled at the RAAF base.
Airport spokesman David Nye told the ABC it was unusual to have such a large plane land in Newcastle.
"There's been a few that have come through over the years but you'd be lucky to see one more than once every two or three years," Mr Nye said.
"It parked on the RAAF base side of the airfield and has been refuelled there."
Qantas spokesman Luke Enright said half a dozen domestic and international flights were affected by this morning's torrential downpours but all had since returned to Kingsford Smith Airport in Sydney.

Hi folks
BNE website is showing QF6717 departing for SYD this arvo (1330L) and QF6716 returning this evening (1830L)... this indicates 1600L arrival and 1800L departure at SYD and seems likely (to me anyways) it would be the B717 VH-NXN that has been doing route proving in BNE the last couple of weeks.
Would be interesting to see whether this is a B717 and, if so, whether it might be route in anticipation of some upcoming SYD-based B717 ops?
Edit: SYD site shows both flights as QLink but with 1635 arrival and 1730 departure... Q400??
Cheers

Chris,
Anything with NEW titles, NEW rego's (1st & 2nd time visitors), NEW decals whatever it may be that has changed in its appearance IS NOTEWORTHY...... An aircraft running over 12+ hours isnt noteworthy!! All aircraft run late at some stage.
Just saying....
Shayne G
16th March 2012, 09:24 AM
Jayden, an exemption to the running late rule is if it is an aircraft that always visits in darkness but is delayed enough to see it in daytime ie, AAE 733s.
This thread is for anything noteworthy like first visits, charters, Ad hocs, equipment changes, night visitors in daylight, rare one off visitors, new colour schemes/titles/livery, special livery visits (preferably overseas visitors) etc.
Obviously somethings can still be noted that don't meet those areas just need to use common sense.
I'll admit I miss the old forum style though ;)
Tim Bowrey
16th March 2012, 09:40 AM
At first I thought the same, why would this be noteworthy? It's a daily flight always A346?
In fact tomorrow's VS200 is deffinatly noteworthy! G-VEIL is the first A340-600 to wear the new scheme just released yesterday and I think looks fantastic.
In Jayden and Shaynes defence, Chris you probably should have mentioned why it was noteworthy.

Hi Chris, I only setup the new ADS-B Receiver yesterday, and the pickup was definitely B-LGJ in the log (B-LGC above is a typo on my part). Not sure if that is a transmission or database issue.

Did anyone manage to get a shot at G-VEIL in the new VS livery?

What ads-b receiver are you using Grahame?
Your first entry shows the hexcode for C-17 05-5151.
I was extremely fortunate to have a good look around this a/c (including climbing up to the hatch above the rest area ( behind the cockpit)) as a parting gift from my colleagues at RAAF Richmond on my last day there in July 2007.
The initial plan was to get on board a C-5 Galaxy that was due in that day but that went tech at Guam so just lucky the C-17 was there. I did log the C-5 on the following Monday.

CXB015 opd by P4-CLA is currently at FL20 on its way to Canberra. Apparently some fog in Canberra this morning so not sure if that is what has delayed the aircraft a little.
Cheers

Nice Jay good shots, is it parked in favourable place for photos?

Parked right up at fence at the GA facing South. Security was tight just like the IL-96 was when it came in so be mindful if there are security hanging around.

Great shots Jayden! I'm guessing since CXB015 was carrying the President of Gabon it would be no accident that "Envoy 99" landed about 10 mins ahead, presumably carrying Wayne Swan?

Given that 16R is advertising AirNav I'd guess that he may have picked up a freebie from them. Just guessing! :-) .
AirNav's inaccurate database is notorious in some circles.

Something we might keep on the lookout for is JAL's first 777-200/ER in the new scheme JA711J.

Didn't know about that Donald; I was one of the first to get the Radarbox in Oz and still use it in a seperate room that picks up a/c very close to home which is easier to monitor than the SBS which has between 30-40 a/c at once.

Didn't know about that Donald.
About what? That Airnav were giving away 50 boxes or the database saga or both? Amongst all the other sagas!

About giving them away although I did get an e-mail saying they were, but only to locations where they weren't getting feeds etc. Planefinder are also in on the act (I send data to Planefinder through PlanePlotter)
Yes there are issues with their database but only where they are not getting updates, e.g they still show VH-EBR as a B742!!
