BA8357 may arrive early in the morning sometime depending on turnaround time in its fuel stop(It appeared to decend into DXB or SHJ). Not long after departure from EMA it was flying in a similar position to BA15 which arrives at 7am.

G-GSSD 747-8F arrived at AVV on runway 18 around 09.27am. It was clearly visible from the viewing car park at Tullamarine for the two of us who had the time to chase it this way. Roll on the Cargolux !
Thanks again Robert for the info.

Jim,
Morning all,
If it helps some people...
There is a Cargolux flight (CV895) showing on Hong Kong arrivals at 0545(Hong Kong TIme) on Sunday morning. Which would mean a ROUGH departure time from Avalon of 2300 on Saturday evening.
The arrival time would be I guess some time tomorrow morning...

9th March 2012, 04:48 PM
Cargolux 748 confirmed as LX-VCB

All,
LX-VCB is currently showing on Plane Finder FL300 NW of Luxembourg, looks to be heading toward the UK. With the remaining flight time and loading to follow, surely the A/C will arrive well after 1900 AVV time saturday?

9th March 2012, 06:55 PM
Could be some interesting light for the arrival if it is the same weather as currently. Assuming the flight is not delayed of course. Hopefully someone gets some nice shots, I doubt I'll make it out to AVV :(
Jim M
9th March 2012, 09:01 PM
I'm assuming that the other flights that Robert mentioned. i.e the other Cargolux 744 flight and the Malaysian/Air France and Cathay flights are still coming too???

Evening all,
http://www.jetspotter.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&p=101695#p101695 saying that an Etihad Cargo is due into Melbourne (Tullamarine) tomorrow.
I have since found that...
Hong Kong Airport arrivals board is showing an Etihad Cargo (EY9866) due into there from melbourne (Tullamarine) at 1825(HK time) on Sunday evening. Which would make a a departure time from melbourne around 11am (Rough estimate).
As for arrival time I can only guess of Saturday evening or early Sunday morning.
Not sure what aircraft type it is...

LX-VCB 747-8F Cargolux has just left East Midlands as CLX894 (around 12.35pm local time), so assuming a 2 hour refueling stop somewhere in the Far East, we are looking at an AVV arrival time of around 20.00pm Saturday night. Doesn't look as if it is staying long either.

B-HUO 747-400F Cathay Paific. CPA014.
9M-MPR 747-400F Malaysia. MAS6427.

Jim, the Cargolux 747-8F arrived at 23.15pm & would have departed around 3.00am. It is currently steaming up the west side of Taiwan as CLX658A, after it's departure from HKG.
Lukas, the MH was 9M-MPR & I believe that the callsign was MAS6427.

Just when we thought that 'it' was all over.....AVV is now expecting N477MC 747-400F Atlas Air (ex G-GSSC, N494MC) as GTI8569 around 20.30pm tonight.
Big thanks to Stefan P in Adelaide for this.
Nice shot of the MD-11, Brian. I was the only one at the crash gate on Sunbury Rd for it's departure, which struck me as strange !

Does anyone know when the two F/A-18s came into Tullamarine today? I was driving past this evening and noticed them parked near one of the hangars...
They'll probably be the ones used for the F/A-18 flypast on the weekend for the F1.

And does anyone know any details for the QF fly over on sunday before the race start? The usual 747 in attendance I assume?

And I can confirm visually that it was VH-OEB; I might have a photo or two of it once I start going through all the photos I took at the Grand Prix today. But for me, one of the highlights of the day was the F/A-18 flying around, one of these birds, which I shot at Tullamarine yesterday morning, definitely not a usual sight there:
