Definitely a lack of colour throughout Chris, I like the new stairs to the Upper Deck, interesting that there are two windows in the stair well. The way the Upper Deck seats point inwards to each other seems a little useless.

Today marked the beginning of a new era for the Queen of the Skies and also ended what has been one incredible week for the 747-8 program. Earlier today, Lufthansa’s 747-8 Intercontinental touched down at Dulles Airport in DC after its inaugural flight from Frankfurt. Elizabeth Lund, vice president and general manager of the 747-8 program, was on board to celebrate the very first revenue flight of the Intercontinental.



Earlier this week, the 747-8 program reached another significant milestone by delivering its 20th airplane.

Clicking on the registration will take you to Airliners.net images of the aircraft. I have also added in the Hex Code ans SELCAL.

It's seems, unlike the 787 program, the 748's are quietly going about the business of getting those jets delivered to customers. I hope they get some more orders soon to keep the dream... er Queen alive!

Air China firms up order for five 747-8s
Boeing books an order that Air China had announced last year, after the airline finally received its government's approval.

Boeing's weekly update to its jet sales Web site on Thursday included an order from Air China for five of Boeing's largest jet, the passenger version of the new 747-8.

Air China originally announced this order for the jumbo jet in March last year, but the sale was not firm until the Chinese government formally approved it. That step was finally taken this week ... goes on
