Hi,

As some of you may know, Air Asia X will be landing in Sydney at approximately 9:45am on April 2nd.

Is anyone going to watch it land? I know I am. :) I will video it landing and maybe even the departure, which takes of at 10:55am April 2nd. It will be posted on youtube as well :)

Have they not landed at Syd before? Pretty sure there was a diversion once.

No they haven't. This is its inaugural flight to Sydney from Kuala Lumpur. This is the first time it will land in Sydney. Air Asia currently only fly to Melbourne, Gold Coast, and Perth in Australia. They are looking to start Adelaide soon, but they are unsure.

Lukas,

Nah no diversions to SYD that I can recall.

Thing is I would think BNE is the suitable alternate for Gold Coast and Adelaide for Melbourne so it would have closer divert points in the event of incliment weather etc.. Happy to be corrected though!

Morning guys! I can't speak for any other flights but I do know a MEL-bound D7 flight diverted to ASP in November last year however that was medical not technical. Cheers, Rowan
