Las Vegas' new Terminal 3 opens on June 27 and today (June 2) I ran in the first public event which was a 5K race around the airport roads. The pre-security part of T3 was open and I noticed in the check-in area there was Air New Zealand signage.

This was the only airline signage apart from the existing airlines which fly to LAS which was shown which I thought was interesting. The signage is all electronic so can change, but I was wondering whether this could mean Air NZ would start regular or seasonal flights to LAS, or whether they have the graphics just for when they run northern summer charters or something. LAS's T3 will greatly increases its international capacity and many new international airlines have recently started or are starting flights once the new terminal opens.

United are shifting their check-in and baggage claim to T3 also from July (but will still use the D gates and be connected by a tram to T3 and its E gates), and have flights to ORD, CLE, DEN, IAH, LAX, EWR, SFO, IAD, FAT and PSP out of LAS, and Star Alliance member US Airways (T1 - A gates) also flies to PHX, PHL, CLT and DCA so quite a few connections available (although not as many as from LAX or SFO) and maybe handy as part of an open-jaw ticket for NZ.

Anyway, would be good if something came of it but I thought I'd post to see if anyone knew something.

I've attached an image below.

Thanks Radi. Yes, the NZ 772 is here and parked at a holding bay. That Air New Zealand graphic in the terminal then must be for these charter flights then once the new terminal opens on June 27.
