Hi all,

I currently have a maycom AR-108, with the stock antenna and I feel it is too weak. Can anyone recommend me an antenna that gives a clearer and stronger signal for the AR-108. If possible name a store thats sells it.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Alexander,

I am currently having the exact same issue. I too owned a maycom AR108 scanner and the white noise is driving me crazy. I am currently looking around for a large antenna and i will let you know what i find.

Cheers

Any antenna with a SMA connector. Make sure you do not get a BMC antenna which most scanners use (Uniden 72XLT etc).

If you do accidently get a BMC antenna, you can get a BNC -> SMA adapater. This option may be more viable as SMA connector antennas are hard to find (I looked when I used to have an AR108 instead of my new Uniden).

I know it is SMA but I don't know what Mhz range it should be. It could be too little range for the Airband Scanner.

Thanks

Hi guys,

There might be some options here for you:

Mobile One is based out at Camden Airport, and Peter is pretty good at doing custom orders too, so if you're after a mod from the ones listed, your best bet is to just ask.

Good luck.
