Why are these lasers always green? Is this the only colour of 'powerful' laser available for purchase via the Internets?

Nigel,
OK, I went back and did another search, like the one I did before posting ...
Figured using 'laser' was appropriate, but got nothing earlier than April 9th or thereabouts ...
I found this about the late Saturday afternoon arrests -> http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,23833427-5006009,00.html
But still would like to know about Saturday night, and also why green light?

and also why green light?
I believe the wavelength of the green laser allows it to maintain its brightness over distance a lot better than red lasers, and also the human eye is a lot more sensitive to green light than red.
From memory a 1mW green laser appears about 50 times brighter than a 1mW red laser.
