I'm up the coast on Friday and i was planning on visiting Williamtown. Does anybody know what's up there on friday (eg:the kc-30 tanker?) and where the best spots for shots would be  and is there any reliable timetable so I can time my visit?
Kind regards

Hi Callum,
On the few occasions that I have been to Williamtown, I have noticed that both Tuesday & Thursday are the best days for RAAF movements! You will get to see a Wedgetail as well as the usual Hornets & Hawks but as for the KC-30, I highly doubt you will see one at Williamtown. As far as spotting locations go, there is one 2 spots. 1 is the roadside parking area at the end of Runway 30 & the 2nd one is the Fighter World Museum balcony.
Someone else might be able to give you some more info but that is as much as I know about Willy!

Mostly all days during the week are pretty good from about 8am-12 noon, those spots as jay mentioned are the spots to go, but don't be surprised if MilPol come and ask to see the pictures or footage you took.
They don't like any footage taken beyond the fence line so shots in the air are ok but once you get a shot on the ground theyll ask for you to delete it. It has happend to me and they literally grabed my camera and deleted shots that were over that fence line.
As for those spotting locations it has to be west to north west wind so they are using the right runway if it's opposite don't bother as there is no place to get decent shots.
Wait until the yanks are here with there toys, they'll be playing around with 2OCU jets and there's a lot of activity.

Probably get a C-130, maybe a C-17 if your lucky! Richmond is a quiet base.....

Here's a nice shot of the Wedgetail over Stockton Beach with Fingal Bay and the Tomaree peninsula in the background:
